Buyer's Guide to Batteries in New Zealand

Batteries are an essential office and workplace supply, powering a wide range of devices used every day. From wireless keyboards and computer accessories to smoke alarms, remote controls, calculators, and office equipment, having reliable batteries on hand helps ensure your workplace continues to operate efficiently.

Whether you need batteries for occasional use or ongoing business requirements, choosing the right battery type can improve performance and reduce replacement frequency.

Types of Batteries Explained

Understanding the different battery sizes helps you select the correct power source for your equipment.

AA batteries are one of the most commonly used battery sizes, suitable for office equipment, wireless devices, clocks, and electronic accessories.

AAA batteries are typically used in smaller devices such as computer mice, remote controls, and handheld electronics.

C batteries provide higher capacity power for larger devices requiring longer operating times.

D batteries are designed for equipment with greater power demands and are commonly used in industrial and commercial applications.

9V batteries are frequently used in smoke alarms, testing equipment, and specialised electronic devices.

Alkaline vs Long Life Batteries

Alkaline batteries are designed to deliver reliable, long-lasting performance and are suitable for high-drain devices that require consistent power.

Long life batteries provide dependable energy for everyday equipment and are an economical choice for general-purpose applications.

Selecting the right battery depends on the power requirements of your device and how frequently it is used.

Choosing the Right Batteries for Your Workplace

The best battery solution depends on the equipment you are powering.

Offices often require AA and AAA batteries for computer accessories and electronic devices

Facilities management teams commonly use 9V batteries for smoke alarms and safety equipment

Industrial and commercial workplaces may require C and D batteries for specialised equipment and devices

Keeping a range of battery sizes available helps minimise downtime and ensures essential equipment remains operational.

Why Quality Batteries Matter

Using high-quality batteries helps improve device performance, reduce interruptions, and extend operating life. Poor-quality batteries can leak, lose power quickly, or require more frequent replacement, increasing overall costs.

Investing in reliable batteries ensures your equipment performs consistently when you need it most.
