Buyer’s Guide to Choosing Compostable Office Bin Liners

Compostable office bin liners provide an alternative to conventional plastic bags for workplaces separating food scraps and other suitable organic waste. Which Office Bin Liner Size Should You Choose?

Smaller 8L and 20L liners suit desk bins, kitchenette caddies and compact office bins. The 30L, 35L and 50L options suit medium-sized workplace bins, while 80L liners provide additional capacity for shared waste stations and higher-volume areas.

Check the actual bin dimensions as well as its litre capacity before ordering to ensure the liner has enough width, height and overhang for a secure fit.

Compostable or Biodegradable?

Some products in this category are specifically labelled compostable, while others are described as biodegradable or bioplastic. These terms should not automatically be treated as equivalent.

If liners are being used for an office composting or organic-waste programme, check the individual product certification and confirm that your collection provider or composting facility accepts the liner. Compostable bags should not be placed in conventional plastic recycling unless specifically accepted.
